Any Time. Any Place.

Any time, any place. That adage always seems to take on an enhanced meaning in the creative industry. With modern technology and a Wi-Fi connection, it's entirely feasible to think one can operate just about anywhere. Now, I've worked in a number of remote locations... Airports. Moving vehicles. Convention centers. But this project definitely took the cake.

Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, CA

Blue Collar Ethic, an upscale men's fashion company, hired Eyenovation to prepare visual materials for their product launch party. The event was designated to kick off the partnership between BC Ethic and the Viper Room to introduce their signature line of merchandise. The plan for us was to arrive early and liaise with photographers to secure imagery for the presentations. We worked with a very talented shooter who is no stranger to Hollywood: Robert Sebree. Together with BC Ethic's models, Sebree and his team managed to snap some amazing images.

When I finally got my hands on the raw files though, it was nearly time for the doors to open to television crews and fashion press. That of course meant two things. One: I was looking at a deadline of mere minutes. Two: I'd have to find a place to work beyond the eyeshot of invited VIP guests. Given the Viper Room is no bigger than your average Starbucks, that meant only one place... outside.

Anyone who is familiar with the Viper Room knows 'outside' means one of the busiest streets in the United States: Sunset Blvd. Now I'm always up for a challenge, but trying to piece together a professional looking presentation with the myriad of distractions Sunset Blvd. has to offer is no small feat. Between onlookers, people yelling obscenities, and the photographers teasing me by taking pictures... it was quite the ordeal. It all worked out in the end, but not without a few tense moments. By now though, you'd think I'd come to expect nothing less.
